KÖPRÜLÜ CANYON NATIONAL PARK AND KOPRÜÇAY RIVER

The river Köprü Çay emerges from the springs located on some canyons over the Taurus mountains and meets the mediteranean sea nearby the town Serik.

The river Köprü Çay fed by some springs fom the banks of the canyon is one of the most beatiful recreation areas in turkey.among some spectacular ancient settlements in the area like the psidian ancient city Selge[Zerk], some castle and tower remnants on both banks of the river and historical roads and paths.

One may reach to the Köprülü Canyon through Serik, Tasagil and Beskonak. The ones from Manavgat direction may reach through Tasagil and Beskonak. Part of the road goes along the river Köprü Çay.

National park of koprulu kanyon is 36 square kilometers covering as well as the ancient city selge and part of the river. In the national park one may see the widest forest of the mediterranean cypress, pine, cedar, oaks, olive, fir trees. Trout and grey mullet may be fished in the river.
